About Ivy & Burt Liebross, MD
Ivy and Burt are third generation NA’AMAT members, following Burt’s grandmother, Esther Giberman and his mother, Lillian Liebross. Seeking a group her own age, Ivy is a founder of the Eilat Chapter, now the largest chapter in the U.S. For four decades Ivy has worked both behind the scenes and in service on boards, committees, and diverse jobs, including the Presidency of both her chapter and the San Fernando Valley Council, and presently finishing her 9th year as the National Vice President of Leadership Development. In that capacity, Ivy has mentored dozens of women leaders for important roles in the organization, started new chapters, and lead numerous leadership seminars in the U.S. and Israel.
Burt and Ivy met in a Hebrew literature class at UCLA, and share a love of Israel. They have devoted their substantial skills, time and resources to helping NA’AMAT support Israel.
Burt is a prominent Nephrologist and Internist and has received numerous accolades in his long and distinguished medical career. As managing partner of the Valley Internal Medicine and Nephrology Group, he directed the first affiliation with Cedar Sinai in the San Fernando Valley and regularly engages with Cedar’s leadership.
The couple has hosted many events for NA’AMAT, at their home and have traveled to Israel numerous times on behalf of NA’AMAT. They have 3 children --Estee (Andrew) Copans, Joanna (Lee) Mendelson, and Adam (Meredith) Liebross-- and seven granddaughters.
Burt and the family are very proud of Ivy’s tireless work for NA’AMAT. The transgenerational commitment to NA’AMAT to build a stronger Israel has been a passion for both Ivy and Burt.
