CELEBRATING WOMEN AND MEN WHO ENRICH OUR HEARTS AND MINDS
Dear Friends and Supporters of NA'AMAT USA,
On Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. the San Fernando Valley Council of NA’AMAT USA (Formerly Pioneer Women) will be holding our annual Distinguished Community Leader Award Luncheon. This year we will be honoring:
Ivy Liebross is a founding member of Eilat Chapter which began in 1977 and has since been heavily involved in NA'AMAT USA locally and on the National Board, presently serving as the National Vice President of Leadership Development. Her husband Burt, has roots in NA'AMAT, going back to his grandparents, parents and wife, Ivy. For many years he has been a strong supporter of NA'AMAT. He is a highly recognized internist and kidney specialist, managing partner of his group, and an affiliate of Cedar-Sinai Hospital.
Pamela Rooks is a well-known leader in Jewish education. She has been the Director of the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning since 2013. Through the Melton School, Pamela is positively impacting people in our community by offering diverse and meaningful Jewish study that inspires engagement. In addition to promoting continuing Jewish education in our local community, Pamela leads educational seminars to Israel and Europe.
NA'AMAT is an organization that provides training, education and social services to improve the lives of women, children and families in Israel. In the U.S., NA’AMAT is also a voice for women’s and children’s rights. Locally, the San Fernando Valley Council works with LA Family Housing, a homeless shelter similar to some of the facilities NA’AMAT maintains in Israel.
In honor of these outstanding members of the Jewish community, we will be publishing a TRIBUTE JOURNAL as a memento of the day. Your words and contributions to this Journal will help perpetuate the work of NA’AMAT. It will be a beautiful and meaningful remembrance to our honorees. Please use the enclosed form to submit your Tribute Journal greetings, ads and memorials. Be sure to mark your calendars so you can join us at the American Jewish University on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 11:30am for the Distinguished Community Leader Award Luncheon.
